Angus Glen enjoys great views from the upper level windows. To the west, "ribbon" gardens climb the hillside. To the east, the trees and grass of the Angus Glen golf course provide a wide green vista. Inside the Library, our window walls are lined with lounge chairs and study carrels for customers' viewing pleasure.
Angus Glen Library was Markham's first 21st century library branch and gave us an opportunity to rethink how libraries should function, look and feel in the context of change in our customers and our operating environment.
At Angus Glen, we introduced self-service technology, merchandizing of our collections, improved spaces for children and teens, and the concept of the "third place" - positioning the library as a social gathering spot / third place in our customers' lives.
